Paintball has something of an odd beginning. While man has used guns to shoot at things for a rather long time, it never occurred to anyone that creating non-lethal paintballs was a good idea. Well, not until the 1950s when the Nelson Paint Company manufactured the first ones for the forestry department so they could mark trees.

While you might imagine the game of paintball would have happened soon thereafter, it didn’t. It wasn’t until the late 1970s that it was thought up. After a few false starts, the game was refined and hoards of players quickly became addicted to it. These days, people play for fun, money and even as corporate team building exercises! Yes, the game has come along way.

Given the fact you are shooting something, it probably isn’t a surprise to you that paintball comes with its own unique gear. From googles to guns, you can rent much of the gear at playing facilities. If you want to get serious, trips to the paintball gear stores in you are will be a must.
